Last night I realized it had been a hot minute since I drank anything Italian, so we did pasta for dinner and paired this delish ‘09 Valadorna – a Merlot heavy Bordeaux style blend and absolutely singing right now. This is a big boy, it needs time to age and probably time to decant, but it’s worth your wait and your patience. Complex, red and black fruit with herbs and dark chocolate undertone, this is a wine to treat yourself with.
